TO BE, BELIEVE, BELONG, & BECOME

Children

Children Are Welcome
During Sunday services, we welcome the opportunity to have your children join us during our time of worship.  There are rocking chairs near the rear for mothers with young infants, and changing tables in both the men's and women's rest rooms.  We offer fun and colorful programs with children's activities for those a bit older, and if you just need the time to center yourself with prayer, the nursery is staffed every week.

Children's One Room Sunday School Class (NEW)
This class is for those between the ages of 3 and 12 years old, led by Elaine Schneider.  Classes will be held in the Sunday School Room in the lower level of Charles Wesley UMC from 9am-10am.  Classes will end Sunday, June 19, 2011 for the summer.  Classes will resume for the fall on Sunday, September 11, 2011.

Worship Pals (NEW)
You may notice some new friends attending our Sunday worship services.  The Welcome and Worship committee has put together some soft and snuggly stuffed animals, dubbed “Worship Pals” for our youngest congregants, guests, and visitors.  These pals are a wonderful way for children to connect with our worship service each Sunday.  In addition to providing a calm and snuggly presence that children appreciate, each pal also has educational material attached to it, which explains the meaning of major Christian holidays, messages of Jesus’ love, and explanations of Christian values.

If you are curious about our newest “guests”, feel free to pick up a pal and enjoy our next worship service with a cute and cuddly friend.

Youth Opportunities
1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” (NIV) We here at Charles Wesley UMC continue to seek to bring this scripture to fruition by providing our youth opportunities for fun, service, and devotion as they discern applications for faith in Jesus Christ during their most formative years.
