Who We AreA handful of people had a vision of God working among them. After meeting in homes for prayer and worship, this vision became a reality March 30, 1958, when a charter for a new Methodist Church was received. The church was to be named after one of the greatest Christian hymn writers of all time, Charles Wesley. Charles is the brother of John Wesley, founder of the United Methodist Church. Against all odds, in just three years the church moved into its own building on Dean Drive in McLean, Virginia. Years later, in 1978, a new sanctuary was added accommodating two hundred and fifty worshippers. Today, Charles Wesley Church witnesses to God's reconciling love in a multi-cultural, multi-national, multi-faith community. Charles Wesley UMC has an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and with one another. We are God loving and serving, close knit, a fun loving community of faith. We can provide you with a place to worship, to serve, to fellowship, and to be blessed greatly. Staff
