SHARE Food Drive

When: Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 10am to 3pm

Where: Safeway at 7401 Colshire Drive AND Giant at 1454 Chain Bridge Road, McLean in the Pimmit Hills neighborhood

Local volunteers will distribute a list of needed food and household supplies to customers as they enter the store and collect donations as customers leave the store. All donations will be taken to the SHARE food pantry in the basement of the McLean Baptist Church. SHARE distributes food and household supplies (plus clothing) from this location on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

SHARE is a non-profit provider of services to people in McLean, Great Falls and nearby areas. This all-volunteer tax-exempt (501c(3)) organization was established in 1969 by local faith communities and civic organizations. In addition to collecting and distributing staples to local families in need, SHARE also provides school supplies, furniture, transportation, emergency family assistance to local people in need. Randy Glantz is the current President of SHARE.

Disciples' Group Sunday School Class

When: Sundays starting September 12 at 9:00am

Where: Charles Wesley United Methodist Church, room behind the Fellowship Hall

The Disciples commences this fall, led by Vicki Herrmann.

Young Adult Bible Study

When: Sundays starting September 12 at 9:00am

Where: Charles Wesley United Methodist Church

This class is for those in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, and will meet from September 12 through December 19, led by Tylee Smith.

One Room Sunday School Class for Children

When: Sundays starting September 12 at 9:00am

Where: Charles Wesley United Methodist Church, downstairs in the Sunday School Room

This class is for those between the ages of 3 and 12 years old, led by Elaine Schneider.

Chesterbrook UMC - Body and Soul Exercise Classes

When: Mondays starting September 13 at 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Where: Chesterbrook United Methodist Church, 1711 Kirby Rd., McLean

Everyone should wear exercise clothing and shoes. They should bring a bottle of water, hand weights and/or elastic resistance, and a mat (or large towel). For a bit of info about what a Cardio Strength class is like, check out their website at, www.bodyandsoul.org. There is room for at least 25 ladies in the gym.

OKTOBERFEST Craft Show and Bazaar

When: Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 10:00am to 3:00pm

Where: Charles Wesley United Methodist Church Narthex and Fellowship Hall

Food: Lunch will be served from 11:00am to 2:00pm
